Softball Recap: Varela Comes Up Short

Varela managed to slip by Homestead the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Varela Vipers lost 29-7 to the Homestead Broncos on Tuesday. The Vipers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row dating back to last season.

Varela's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Homestead, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Varela will venture away from home to square off against Somerset Academy South Homestead at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Somerset Academy South Homestead is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season. As for Homestead, they are taking a road trip to take on Carol City at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
