The biggest upset of the week belonged to Blue Valley Northwest, who defeated third ranked Blue Valley, 17-14.
Blue Valley Southwest's RYAN PEROO recorded the longest rushing play in Eastern Kansas this season in his game against Bishop Miege last week. PEROO ran for 53 yards on the play and finished with 60 on the day as his team lost to the Stags.
Blue Valley Southwest's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. DRAKE HERRMAN threw for 121 yards and LUKE WILMES had 73 yards receiving. On the ground HERRMAN chipped in 85 yards. SAM RANDALL helped Blue Valley Southwest's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 48 yards.
HERRMAN put up the best numbers through the air as Bill lowe's team lost to Bishop Miege. HERRMAN's favorite target this week was WILMES, who caught 3 passes for 73 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Timberwolves' HERRMAN and RANDALL have proven to be a lethal combination. HERRMAN has thrown for 632 yards this season, while RANDALL has 11 catches for 293 yards. Gardner-Edgerton's Traevohn Wrench leads the league in rushing yards with 895.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Blue Valley West and Jon Holmes' team. The Jaguars comes into the matchup ranked 18th in the state, while the Stags ranks second.
Bishop Miege was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to second in Eastern Kansas. The Stags beat Blue Valley Southwest 37-12 earlier in the week.
