Ballard is a perfect 3-0 against Elizabethtown since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Bruins will welcome the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. Ballard will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Ballard got the win against Nelson County by a conclusive 8-1. Considering the Bruins have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jaedyn Lyons and Emery Schuster were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Lyons pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Meanwhile, Schuster pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lyons has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Lyons went 1-for-2 with two RBI, while Schuster went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Gatewood, who earned two runs and four stolen bases. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubrie Newton, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Elizabethtown unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Meade County by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 28th.
Ballard pushed their record up to 20-11 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Elizabethtown, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.
Both Ballard and Elizabethtown just can't seem to miss. The Bruins have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Elizabethtown struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
