Soccer Recap: Mendota Triumphs

Mendota proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by seven) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Limestone Rockets 3-2. That's more bragging rights for Mendota, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

They hit Limestone with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Isaac Diaz, Ramiro Palacios, and Johan Cortez.

Mendota's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Limestone, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.

Mendota wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Bloomington on the 30th. As for Limestone, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Streator/Woodland on the 30th.
