Softball Game Preview: Mounds View Mustangs vs. East Ridge Raptors

Mounds View hasn't had much luck against East Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Raptors at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mounds View barely beat Irondale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Knights 14-4 on Monday. The Mustangs have beaten the Knights the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Knights has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, East Ridge got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Cretin-Derham Hall. The game was the first time the Raptors have beaten the Raiders on their field since April 8, 2019.

East Ridge now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mounds View, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Mounds View suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to East Ridge when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
