Volleyball Game Preview: Wheatland Pirates vs. Yuba City Honkers

The Wheatland Pirates will face off against the Yuba City Honkers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Wheatland is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Oakmont just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 3-1 to the Vikings.

While Wheatland ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Yuba City also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Cardinal Newman by a score of 2-0.

Yuba City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Wheatland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Wheatland took their win against Yuba City when the teams last played back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Wheatland repeat their success, or does Yuba City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
