Softball Recap: Bloomington North Cougars vs. Shakamak Lakers

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Columbus East, Bloomington North was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Shakamak Lakers out 5-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bloomington North also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2022.

Molly Klein was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Klein has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks every time she's pitched this season. Klein was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Klein wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jillian Parrish, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a double.

Bloomington North made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-2. As for Shakamak, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
