Baseball Recap: Grand County Falls Short of Kanab in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Grand County can now relate to. They lost 10-4 to the Kanab Cowboys on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Red Devils have suffered since March 7th.

Grand County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trace York, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another was Jt Dowd, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Grand County's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Kanab, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-6.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Grand County will take on Milford at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Kanab, they will face off against Beaver at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cowboys 3.3, the Beavers 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
