Baseball Recap: Elkhorn's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Bennington typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Elkhorn proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Badgers. The Antlers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Badgers, too.

Elkhorn got a great performance from Beau Twohig as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Twohig has become a key player for the Antlers: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Camden Carle, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Elkhorn is undefeated when Carle posts two or more runs, but 2-9 otherwise.

The win snapped Elkhorn's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-9 record. As for Bennington, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 13-1.
