Basketball Recap: Laton Falls Despite Big Games from Donavin Mobley and Yann Jimenez

Laton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverdale Christian Ambassadors. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-35 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Laton had strong showings from Yann Jimenez, who posted 12 points and six rebounds, and Donavin Mobley, who had nine points and five boards. Those nine points gave Mobley a new career-high.

Laton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Riverdale Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

Laton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Maricopa at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Riverdale Christian, they will challenge Kings Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
