Basketball Recap: McNeil Comes Up Short

McNeil was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. The matchup between them and the Cedar Ridge Raiders didn't end well, with the McNeil Mavericks falling 53-39. The Mavericks were not able to make up for their loss to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Randall Guidry was the offensive standout of the contest as he went 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Ciernia, who posted eight points and four steals.

McNeil's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Cedar Ridge, they moved to 8-14 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Manor the next time they take the court. McNeil will head out to face Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Cedar Ridge will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
