Volleyball Recap: Lacie Godby's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cascade over Bloomington North

After flying high against Speedway on Thursday, Cascade came back down to earth. The Cadets fell just short of the Bloomington North Cougars by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cadets in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Cascade lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lacie Godby, who had 22 assists and eight digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 14 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Guetig, who had 11 kills.

Cascade's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Bloomington North, the win snapped their losing streak at five matches and leaves them with a 3-10 record.

Coincidentally, Cascade and Bloomington North will both be playing South Newton the next time they take the court. The Cadets will head out to face the Rebels at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Cougars will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
