Basketball Recap: Tripp Kirkland's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Westwood Christian over Southside Christian

On Thursday, the Westwood Christian Warriors came up short against the Southside Christian Patriots and fell 52-44.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tripp Kirkland, who posted 12 points along with seven boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Avery Thomas, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.

Westwood Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Southside Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

Westwood Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on February 25th. Southside Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
