After a string of seven wins, Stratford Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 63-62 to the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans. The match was a 28-28 toss-up at halftime, but the Eagles couldn't quite close it out.

When it comes to explaining why Stratford Academy lost, don't look at Frankie Raines Jr. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Gates, who posted eight points.

It was another big night for Drew Bacchus, who had 21 points for Tattnall Square Academy. Another player making a difference was Ty Hunnicutt, who scored 14 points.

Stratford Academy's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5. As for Tattnall Square Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Stratford Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-40 victory against First Presbyterian Day on the 29th.
