Basketball Preview: Springport Spartans vs. Concord Yellowjackets
Springport is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Concord is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Springport can attribute much of their success to Jake Kregel, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 21 points along with five boards and four steals, and Brody Baum, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. Kregel's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marshall Shoemaker, who posted seven points.
Springport smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive games.
