Softball Game Preview: Wheatland Pirates vs. Marysville Indians

For the second straight game, Wheatland will face off against Marysville. The Pirates will be playing at home against the Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wheatland has ten straight wins, Marysville has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Wheatland got the win against Marysville by a conclusive 17-4. Considering the Pirates have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Raelynn Hulsey was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Sophia Logan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Wheatland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in eight consecutive contests.

Wheatland's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Marysville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
