Softball Recap: Spring-Ford Takes a Loss

Spring-Ford has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.93 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against the Owen J. Roberts Wildcats, falling 15-3. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 7-4.

Mia Fanaro made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Autumn Eck also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Spring-Ford has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Owen J. Roberts, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spring-Ford will venture away from home to face off against Upper Perkiomen at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Owen J. Roberts, they are taking a road trip to challenge Avon Grove at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
