Football Recap: Sanger Skates Past Farmersville with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sanger). They claimed a resounding 91-56 victory over the Farmersville Farmers. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Indians' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Farmers are ranked 576th).

Sanger's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reginald Jones led the charge by rushing for 255 yards and three scores on only 11 carries. Jones is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 120 every time he's taken the field this season. Austin Martin was in the mix as well, providing Sanger with two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sanger was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 575 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Sanger didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Leading the way was Jonas Autry and his one interception. Kale Barr was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Sanger is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points over those games. As for Farmersville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Sanger has already played their next game, a 31-20 victory against Ford on the 14th. Farmersville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
