Basketball Game Preview: Van Alstyne Panthers vs. Celina Bobcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Van Alstyne Panthers challenge the Celina Bobcats at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday... Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Van Alstyne was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-40 to Sanger. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 543rd, while the Indians are ranked 270th).

Meanwhile, Celina lost to Sanger at home by a 44-30 margin on Tuesday.

Van Alstyne dropped their record down to 11-17 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Celina, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.
