Basketball Game Preview: Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders vs. Woodbine Tigers

Coon Rapids-Bayard hasn't had much luck against Woodbine recently, but that could start to change on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:15 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Coon Rapids-Bayard has six wins , while Woodbine has five).

Coon Rapids-Bayard is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Exira-EHK 68-32 two weeks ago. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Spartans are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Woodbine blew past Ar-We-Va, posting an 83-47 victory. Fans of the Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Woodbine pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.3 points. As for Coon Rapids-Bayard, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Coon Rapids-Bayard came up short against Woodbine when the teams last played back in January, falling 51-39. Can Coon Rapids-Bayard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
