Recap: Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds vs. Northwood Rangers

The Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 46-26 walloping at the hands of Northwood. While losing is never fun, Lima Central Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 758th, while Northwood is ranked 281st).

Leading Northwood to victory were Natalie Thompson and Autumn Schroeder. Thompson scored 11 points along with nine steals and six rebounds, while Schroeder scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The contest was Thompson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bree Bolden, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.

Lima Central Catholic bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.2 points per game. As for Northwood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Lima Central Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet Perry at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Perry is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Northwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Vanlue at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Vanlue focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
