Softball Recap: 11 Straight Home Victories for Rogers

Rogers had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Bethel on Monday. The Rams blew past the Bison 18-1. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Sierra Murray made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Rogers got a massive performance out of Kelsey Vernon, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Vernon has posted since back in April of 2024. MacKenzie Simon was another key player, going 3-for-4 with six RBI.

Rogers kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Rogers' win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.4 runs this season. As for Bethel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Rogers will square off against Puyallup at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season. As for Bethel, they will take on Spanaway Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
