Volleyball Recap: Gretna Dragons vs. Gretna East Griffins
Gretna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Gretna East Griffins. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Griffins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Saturday.
While Gretna had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20, 13-25, 25-18.
Lily Zimmerman and Karrigan Gangwish certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Zimmerman had 11 digs, while Gangwish had six digs and three aces.
Maggie Williams was a one-man wrecking crew for Gretna East as she had 23 digs and two aces.
Gretna's loss dropped their record down to 21-16. As for Gretna East, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 25-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gretna will challenge Blair at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
