Baseball Recap: Lodi Finds Home Field Redemption Against Wallington

There's no place like home for Lodi, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wallington Panthers on Monday, sneaking past 8-7. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Lodi saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonas Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two hits gave Martinez a new career-high. Nikolas Iwinski also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Lodi's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for Wallington, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Lodi has already played their next match, a 20-6 win against College Achieve Paterson on the 9th. As for Wallington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-13 victory against Elmwood Park on the 9th.
