Chapin entered their tilt with Brookland-Cayce on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Bearcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-0 last Friday.

Tyler Graham looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caden Reeves, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Weston Plotner, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Chapin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 8.8.

Chapin's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Brookland-Cayce, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Chapin will head out to take on Spring Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Brookland-Cayce, they will be playing at home against Dutch Fork at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
