Volleyball Recap: Mount Calvary Christian Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Mount Calvary Christian Academy's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Heritage Christian Academy Patriots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Mount Calvary Christian Academy who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 11-25, 25-11, 20-25, 15-6.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mount Calvary Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dakota Honeycutt, who had ten aces. Those ten aces gave Honeycutt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mia Coria, who had nine aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Mount Calvary Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 37 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

The win snapped Mount Calvary Christian Academy's losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 4-8 record. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Terra Ceia Christian on the 9th. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Fellowship Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
