Volleyball Recap: Ogden Starts Season with Win Against Hillcrest

Ogden gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hillcrest Huskies. The Tigers were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Huskies, so the Tigers were just returning the favor.

Ogden was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-10, 25-16.

Taylor Duke paced Ogden's offense, picking up 11 kills. Duke got some help from Tabitha Merrill and her 22 assists. Macie Richards controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ogden will host Timpanogos at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hillcrest, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Alta at 6:00 p.m.
