Basketball Recap: Lassiter Trojans vs. Sprayberry Yellow Jackets
The Lassiter Trojans came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged Sprayberry out 45-43. For Lassiter, this counts as revenge for the 45-32 loss the Yellow Jackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Lassiter was led to victory by Claire Mackenny and Kenzie Wyman. Mackenny scored 15 points along with four blocks, while Wyman scored 12 points along with two steals.
Lassiter has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Sprayberry, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-10.
Lassiter will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Alpharetta is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Sprayberry, they will head out on the road to challenge the Gladiators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Johns Creek has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
