Basketball Recap: Miller Grove Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Miller Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They came out on top against the Towers Titans by a score of 63-51 on Tuesday. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Titans are ranked 392nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Towers' loss came despite strong showings from Jalen Kelly and CJ Winfrey. Kelly posted 26 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals, while Winfrey had 15 points and six steals. That was a full 51% of the Titans' points, marking the third time in a row Kelly has earned more than a third of the team's points.

Miller Grove pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points over those games. As for Towers, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Miller Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-49 win against Stephenson on the 6th. As for Towers, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-60 victory against Lakeside on the 6th.
