Basketball Recap: O'connor Now 12-1 over Last 13 Games

O'Connor won the last time they faced Taft, and Hagen Hurst did his part to make sure it happened again. The O'Connor Panthers walked away with a 54-46 win over the Taft Raiders on Wednesday thanks to Hurst, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 16 points along with three steals and three blocks. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Jaedon Maberry was another key player, putting up eight points. Those eight points gave him a new career-high.

O'Connor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points over those games. As for Taft, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 18 of their last 19 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-26 record this season.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers take on the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season. Taft does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
