Baseball Recap: Mason City Has No Trouble Against Algona

Mason City lost to Algona back in June of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Mohawks blew past the Bulldogs 11-1. The Mohawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.

Mason City is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Algona, their loss dropped their record down to 22-8.

Looking ahead, Mason City will head out to take on Fort Dodge on Friday. The Dodgers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Mohawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Algona, they will face off against Charles City on Friday.
