Volleyball Game Preview: Hatch Valley Bears vs. Animas Panthers

After both having extra time off, the Hatch Valley Bears and the Animas Panthers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hatch Valley is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Hatch Valley and Chaparral meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Bears took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lobos.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 21-25, 25-21, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Animas lost 3-0 to Reserve on Friday.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-12, 25-9.

Hatch Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Animas, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Hatch Valley took their win against Animas in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
