Softball Recap: Eureka Vandals vs. Carlin Railroaders

Eureka extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-13. They came up short against the Carlin Railroaders, falling 22-12. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Railroaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-14 on April 7th.

Jayde Rosener led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs. Another player making a difference was Mya Tognotti, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

As for Carlin, they pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Considering they have won eight matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Carlin's side, Kayona Christensen was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four stolen bases, six RBI, and four runs. Christensen is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Alexandria Whigham also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Eureka does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carlin, they will face off against Mineral County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
