Softball Game Preview: West Field Longhorns vs. Sky View Bobcats

For the second straight game, West Field will face off against Sky View. The Longhorns will face off against the Bobcats at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. West Field will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

West Field is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Sky View with a sharp 17-2 win. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Brinklee Hadley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, West Field got a massive performance out of Clair Nessen, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave Nessen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kam Bell, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

West Field always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .706. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

West Field's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Sky View, their loss dropped their record down to 12-19.
