The Comer Catamounts will challenge the Pritzker Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Comer: 24.9, Pritzker: 27.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
Pritzker is hoping to do what Bulls College Prep couldn't back in December of 2024: put an end to Comer's winning streak, which now stands at five games. Comer sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-12 victory over Bulls College Prep. The 15-point effort marked the Catamounts' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Comer can attribute much of their success to Ra'Quima Wilson, who posted 12 points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pritzker). They blew past Johnson 62-19 on Wednesday. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 25 points or more this season.
Comer better focus on containing Dailiany Azonca and Kalyne Rodriguez as the pair were huge in Pritzker's win. Azonca dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 steals, while Rodriguez dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 blocks. That makes it five consecutive games in which Azonca has scored at least a third of Pritzker's points. Ezrielle Sanders was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.
Pritzker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.
Comer's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.3 points per game. As for Pritzker, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Comer skirted past Pritzker 38-35 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Does Comer have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pritzker turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
