Basketball Recap: Wallkill Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Roosevelt came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Wallkill, but Zoe Mesuch wouldn't allow it. The Wallkill Panthers walked away with a 57-50 win over the Roosevelt Presidents on Thursday thanks in part to Mesuch, who went 8 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 42 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Her evening made it 14 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Aoefi Brady was another key player, putting up two points and five steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

Wallkill has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Wallkill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-47 loss against Johnson City on the 18th. As for Roosevelt, they will be playing at home against Kingston at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Roosevelt is facing Kingston at the right time seeing as Kingston is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
