Softball Recap: Sprague Olympians vs. Newberg Tigers

If Sprague was feeling good fresh off their 17-2 takedown of Parkrose on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Olympians came up short against the Newberg Tigers on Thursday, falling 15-8. The Olympians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Brooklyn Bakke and Addison MacEdo stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bakke got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI, while MacEdo went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that MacEdo has launched this season. Brenna Morris was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Sprague's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Newberg, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-15 record.
