Softball Game Preview: Kewanee Boilermakers vs. Rock Falls Rockets

The Kewanee Boilermakers will face off against the Rock Falls Rockets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kewanee is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Kewanee fell victim to Stark County and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Rebels, falling 6-0.

Rock Falls never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hall on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Red Devils. Considering the Rockets' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Jeslyn Krueger, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendra Scott, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Rock Falls' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Kewanee, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Kewanee took their victory against Rock Falls in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3. Will Kewanee repeat their success, or does Rock Falls has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
