Columbian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Tornadoes haven't had any issues with the Chieftains recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Columbian not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Hopewell-Loudon between 16 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16, 25-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbian will square off against Liberty-Benton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hopewell-Loudon, they will take on Calvert at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Chieftains' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
