Baseball Recap: Fairfield Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

There's no place like home for Fairfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Central Noble Cougars on Saturday as they made off with an 8-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won nine in a row.

Hunter Kauffman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Fairfield let Eli Miller and Logan Miller run wild. Eli got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Logan went 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. Those runs were Logan's first of the season.
