Football Recap: Dominguez Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Dominguez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 42-18 to the Mayfair Monsoons. The Dons were not able to make up for their loss to the Monsoons from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Dominguez saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Donnie Johnson III threw for 215 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 40 yards. The Dons' leading receiver Kahmi Williams was Johnson III's top target yet again, picking up 96 receiving yards and one score.

Dominguez suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 6-3. As for Mayfair, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Looking ahead, Dominguez will be playing at home against Downey at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dons will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games. As for Mayfair, they will head out on the road to challenge La Mirada at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
