Volleyball Recap: Paint Valley Comes Up Short at Home Against Jackson

Paint Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Jackson Ironman/Ironladies on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-15, 25-9.

Kylea Spangler paced Paint Valley's offense, picking up four kills. Spangler got some help from Hallie Rummer and her five assists. Mayah Collier controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Jackson can attribute much of their success to Kaylin Sheppard, who had 13 digs and two aces. What's more, Sheppard posted three assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.

The victory got Jackson back to even at 1-1.

Paint Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Whiteoak on the 25th. As for Jackson, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Alexander on the 21st.
