Basketball Game Preview: Pollok Central Bulldogs vs. Diboll Lumberjacks

The Pollok Central Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Diboll Lumberjacks at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Pollok Central is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

Last Friday, everything went Pollok Central's way against Huntington as Pollok Central made off with a 68-43 victory.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pollok Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jake Matthews, who went 7 for 9 en route to 17 points in addition to six steals and five boards. Matthews has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Law Shaver, who went 7 of 11 to rack up 17 points.

Meanwhile, Diboll posted their biggest win since February 9, 2024 on Friday. They put the hurt on Newton with a sharp 63-38 victory. The Lumberjacks haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Pollok Central pushed their record up to 21-10 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points over those games. As for Diboll, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.

Pollok Central didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Diboll in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 40-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pollok Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
