Softball Recap: Lynden Wins Going Away Against White River

Lynden came out on top against White River on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Lions put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 9-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Lynden and bumps their season record up to 11-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for White River, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.

Looking ahead, Lynden will take on Cedarcrest at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Wolves have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for White River, they will face off against Kent-Meridian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
