Basketball Game Preview: First Baptist Crusaders vs. Fourth Baptist Christian Warriors

Having just played yesterday, the First Baptist Crusaders will get right back to it and host the Fourth Baptist Christian Warriors at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. First Baptist's defense has only allowed 27.3 points per game this season, so Fourth Baptist Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.

First Baptist is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Liberty Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that First Baptist blew Liberty Christian out of the water with a 44-9 final score. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Lydia Wynja, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 boards. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of First Baptist's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya McKinney, who posted eight points and four steals.

First Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Fourth Baptist Christian lost to First Baptist at home by a 47-33 margin back in January. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

First Baptist has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points over those games. As for Fourth Baptist Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

First Baptist strolled past Fourth Baptist Christian in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 47-33. Will First Baptist repeat their success, or does Fourth Baptist Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
