Volleyball Recap: Morgan County Extends Home Winning Streak to 13

There's no place like home for Morgan County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Dacula Falcons by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Morgan County not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Dacula between 15 and 16 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-16.

Morgan County was led to victory by Camryn Scherer and Graycen Cawthon. Scherer had 11 digs and two aces, while Cawthon had eight assists and five aces. Cawthon has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Morgan County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 17 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Morgan County pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Dacula, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coincidentally, Morgan County and Dacula will both be playing Oglethorpe County the next time they take the court. The Falcons will host the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
