League recap: Knipp throws longest pass in league this season for Ralston Valley

Jacob Knipp and Hunter Price provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Boulder. The connection was good for 89 yards, the longest such play in 5A North Metro this season.

Ralston Valley took down the Panthers 49-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Knipp threw for 231 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

Fairview's dynamic duo of Johnny Feauto and Sam Martin proved tough for Arvada West to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Feauto threw for 352 yards and four touchdowns and Martin had 172 yards receiving. Cole Scheifele helped Fairview's passing attack out by catching five balls for 126 yards.

Allen Martin provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Wildcats lost to the Knights. He completed 16 passes for 276 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 78 yards.

Luis Escobar was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 115 yards on 17 carries as Boulder beat Arvada West. Phil Swisher also contributed to the rushing game with 12 yards on the ground.

Tom Mccartney's team's Feauto and Martin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Feauto has thrown for 2268 yards this season, while Martin, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 52 catches for 812 yards. Legacy's Phydell Paris leads the league in rushing yards with 713.

The marquee game in 5A North Metro this week will be the clash between the Mustangs and Pomona. Ralston Valley enters the contest ranked second in the state, while the Panthers ranks fourth.

Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Pomona takes on Matt Loyd's team. Jay Madden's team's offense has racked up 245 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Mustangs have allowed only 92 on the year.

There should be lots of points scored when Ralston Valley and the Panthers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Mustangs comes in having scored 225 this season, while Pomona has scored 245. Ralston Valley scored 49 points last week as it beat Jeff Santee's team.
