Basketball Recap: Malayah Adams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Alexander Central over Freedom

Alexander Central was the 51-37 winner over Freedom when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Alexander Central Cougars fell just short of the Freedom Patriots by a score of 56-54 on Friday.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malayah Adams, who posted 19 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Adams a new career-high in points. Meredith Wike was another key player, putting up 14 points and five boards.

Alexander Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season. As for Freedom, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.

As of now, neither Alexander Central nor Freedom have any future games scheduled.
