Godinez Fundamental entered their tilt with Crean Lutheran on Wednesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 2-1 win from a begrudging Godinez Fundamental squad. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Saints are ranked 342nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sebastian Mejia and Armando Puente scored both of Godinez Fundamental's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Godinez Fundamental pushed their record up to 7-1-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Crean Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1.
