The Overhills Jaguars will face off against the Pine Forest Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Overhills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Overhills is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Pine Forest just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 4-0 to the Trojans. The Jaguars were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Trojans' pitchers proved too tough.

For Pine Forest's part, Ryan Temple and Ja'Lynn Thomas made a splash while hitting and pitching. Meanwhile, Thomas didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Temple has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. At the plate, Temple scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Thomas went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

In other batting news, J.J. Watson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Landen Thompson was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Pine Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.

Pine Forest's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for Overhills, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Overhills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Pine Forest struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
